Bob joined the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools team in July 2020 after a 36-year career as a high school career and technical education teacher in Washington State. Thirty-five of those years were spent at Enumclaw High School. Bob’s primary responsibility is to support the growing network of prize-winning teachers, ensuring that the perspective of a public high school skilled trades teacher is represented in strategic planning of Harbor Freight Tools for Schools. Also, in his role as education advisor, Bob conducts school visits and assists in the planning of our one-of-a-kind summer gathering of prize-winning teachers called Let’s Build It.
Bob earned his B.S. from the University of Montana – Western in Industrial Arts “Broadfield”, M.A. in Instructional Technology from City University – Seattle, and is a National Board certified teacher in career and technology education. He has taught classes in woodworking, construction, architecture, welding, ASB leadership, math, workplace science, computer repair, digital media and served as both head wrestling coach and golf coach. In 2017, Bob was a grand prize winner of the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence. In his spare time, you can find Bob on golf courses in Washington, Montana or Arizona.
